GEM ("we", "our", "us") is a board game tracking app. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data We Collect

• Account data: Email address and display name, collected during sign-up and used solely to identify your account.
• Profile data: Player name and avatar you choose within the app.
• Game data: Matches, scores, and game history you record.
• Sign-in providers: If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive a unique identifier from that provider. We never see your Google or Apple passwords.

How We Use Your Data

All data is used exclusively to provide app functionality: storing your game history, enabling multi-device sync, and letting you connect with other players you invite. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising or tracking.

Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google): Authentication and cloud database. Your data is stored in Firebase Firestore under your account. See Firebase Privacy.
• BoardGameGeek: Used to search public board game metadata. No personal data is sent to BoardGameGeek.
• Algolia: Used for fast game search. No personal data is sent to Algolia.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → Delete Account inside the app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Children's Privacy

GEM is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
